On Sunday March 27th, we held our second Tai Chi brunch in our pre-launch series for Homegrown International and it was beautiful! Our faithful instructor Dahari from Body and Brain Tai Chi and Yoga Center led another inspired Tai Chi-Qigong session for a group of 8.

Her wise words guided us through the process:  “Your gut, your core, your root … it is the source of where all or most of the chi or qi energy is.  Please connect with the birds and the trees and look at where we are:  We are on a rock spinning, going 70,000 km per hour around the sun … In the whole expanse of things we are very small in this whole galaxy.  However, we are vibrating energy that can affect change. Wow, how do you like that?  … But first, change is inside our body!  So let us shift the energy inside, and calm and ground ourselves first.”   Dahari completed her session with a seated meditation that left everyone feeling free, unburdened, relaxed and ready to enjoy a delicious, seasonal, locally-sourced brunch.

Most importantly, this and other similar gatherings are bringing people together around the idea of sourcing at least some (if not all!) of our food from a decentralized system based on regenerative agriculture.  If we switch slowly but surely to supporting those local farmers and ranchers who grow our food in a way that gives back to the earth and the many sentient beings that call it home, we will leave our planet with cleaner air, fresher water, richer soil that sequesters more carbon, decreased carbon emissions, and more thriving and diverse flora and fauna than before.  And we’ll create healthier communities too!

Your gut, your core, your root … it is the source of where all or most of the chi or qi energy is.  … Please connect with the birds and the trees and look at where we are … We are vibrating energy that can affect change … But first, change is inside our body!

Regenerative agriculture rebuilds the soil upon which entire ecosystems stand, and upon which our health is based.  And what better way to support the development of a new locally-based regenerative agricultural system than in community as we improve our health, both physically and emotionally.  For it is said that supportive community interaction on a regular basis is the number one factor in determining our health and longevity.  It’s all for one and one for all!  So come join us and be part of a growing community that’s making a difference for both individuals and the world!
